How the set circles work

Each lift on Today shows one circle per set. Tap a circle when you finish that set and it fills with your target reps. Tap it again and the number goes down by one, again and it goes down again, down to zero, and once more to clear it back to empty.

So a good set is one tap. A set where you got three of five is three taps. A set you did not do stays empty, and an empty set counts as a miss when you finish the workout.

  • Filled red — every target rep.
  • Outlined with a number — short of target, by that many.
  • Red ring around a zero — you tried and got nothing.
  • Empty — not logged.

Nothing needs saving. Every tap is written to disk, so an unfinished workout is still there after a phone restart.

The rest timer

The timer starts itself the moment you log a set and sits in a bar above the tab bar. A full set gets the short rest, a missed set gets the long one, and both lengths are yours to set in Settings → Rest timer.

+30 s adds half a minute. Skip ends it. At zero the bar turns green and stays there until you tap your next set.

If you allowed notifications, a local notification fires at zero so you can put the phone down. The permission is asked the first time a timer runs. If you said no and want it back: iOS Settings → Fives → Notifications → Allow Notifications. The toggle in Settings → Rest timer deep-links you there.

Changing a weight

Tap the weight on any lift’s card on Today. The sheet steps up and down by your smallest plate pair, takes a typed number, and has Use bar for an empty bar.

That changes the weight for this session. To change what the app carries forward, or the increment it adds, open Settings → Program and edit the lift there. The failure count that drives deloads is editable in the same place.

Fixing a mislog after the fact: History, tap the session, tap the circles. Edits to history never re-run progression — your next weight is whatever Settings says it is.

Switching between pounds and kilos

Settings → Units. Every weight you have stored converts and then rounds to the smallest plate pair in the new unit, so you never end up with a number you cannot load. The bar weight switches with it, and you can override that too.

Sessions already in History keep the unit they were logged in. Progress and the tonnage total convert so the numbers stay comparable.

Restoring Pro

Pro is a one-time purchase tied to your Apple ID, so it comes back on any iPhone signed in to that account.

Open Settings → Fives Pro → Restore purchase. If it says there is nothing to restore, check that you are signed in to the same Apple ID you bought it with, in iOS Settings at the top of the screen. Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple, not by us.
